Dahi Ghiya

Serves 2




Ingredients


  1. 1 Bottlegourd (peeled and roundly cut)

  2. 1 onion finely chopped

  3. 1 onion cut in cubes

  4. 1 capsicum cut in cubes

  5. 2 tomatoes finely chopped

  6. 1 tbsp Chickpea flour (besan)

  7. 1 cup whisk curd

  8. Salt as per taste

  9. 1/2 +1/2 tsp red chili powder

  10. 1/2 + 1/2 tsp coriander powder

  11. 1/4 turmeric powder

  12. 1 tsp Kasuri methi

  13. 1/2 tsp garam masala

  14. 1 tbsp + 2 tbsp mustard oil



Procedure




  1. Take a plate. Add in your botlegourd and coat it well in spices.

  2. Sprinkle Chickpea flour and drizzle some mustard oil and coat it well.

  3. Let it rest for 15-20 mins.

  4. Heat oil in a pan.

  5. Add your coated bottlegourd and nicely stir fry it on low medium flame for 15-20 mins.

  6. Keep it aside.

  7. In same pan, add 1 tbsp oil.

  8. Add chopped onions and cook it well 7-8 mins or till it changes color.

  9. Add chopped tomatoes and give it a nice mix.

  10. Cook till it turns soft and mushy - for around 10-12. mins.

  11. Add spices except salt, kasuri methi and garam masala.

  12. Give it a nice mix and let it cook further for 5 mins.

  13. On low flame, add curd and give it a nice mix.

  14. Add 1 cup water along with that and on low flame, keep cooking.

  15. After 10-15 mins, add onions, capscium along with bottlegourd.

  16. Give it a nice mix.

  17. Cover it with a lid and let it cook further for 10 mins.

  18. Add salt, kasuri methi and garam masala.

  19. Give it a nice mix.



For Serving
