Ghiya Pulav

(Serves 2)

Ingredients
1 cup rice (washed and soaked in water)
1 cup grated bottlegourd (ghiya)
1 onion chopped
2 tomatoes chopped
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp oil/ ghee
Procedure
Heat ghee in a cooker.
Add cumin and let it crackle for a min or two.
Add onions and mix well.
Let it cook for 5 mins on low medium flame.
Add tomatoes and mix well.
Cook it for 5-7 mins on low medium flame.
Add grated bottlegourd, give it a nice mix.
Cook it for 3-4 mins.
Add spices and mix well.
Toss for a minute or two.
Add rice and 2 cups of water.
Stir it well.
Cover it with a lid and give a whistle.
Simmer it for 2-3 mins and Switch off the flame,
For Serving
Serve hot Ghiya Pulav with Curd or Raita.. Enjoy!!
