Khatta Meetha Petha

(Serves 2-3)



Ingredients


  1. 500 gms pumpkin (peeled and chopped)

  2. 9-10 curry leaves

  3. 1 tsp methi dana (fenugreek seeds)

  4. 1/2 tsp asafetida

  5. 1-1.5 tsp sugar

  6. 1.5-2 tsp dry mango powder

  7. Salt to taste

  8. 1 tsp red chili powder

  9. 1 tbsp mustard oil

  1. Heat oil in cooker.

  2. Add methi dana (fenugreek seeds) and cook for a min.

  3. Add curry leaves and asafetida.

  4. Add sugar and mix well.

  5. Add pumpkin and cook for 10-12 mins on medium low flame. ( it will start getting soft ).

  6. Add spices and mix well.

  7. Add 1/2 cup water and mix well.

  8. Cover it with lid, give 2-3 whistles.

  9. Mash the pumpkin well.

  10. (If excessive water is there, let it cook for a bit)


Serving- Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves and best served with namak ajwain poori..
