Spiny Gourd

(Serves 2)









Ingredients


  1. 250 gms of Spiny gourd (kakode - washed and roundly cut)

  2. 1 big onion finely sliced

  3. 1 tbsp oil

  4. Salt to taste

  5. 1 tsp red chili powder

  6. 1.5 - 2 tsp dry mango powder

  7. kasuri methi for garnishing




Procedure





  1. Heat oil in a pan.

  2. Add onions and sauté it for 6-7 mins on low medium flame.

  3. Add spiny gourd and mix well.

  4. Cover it with a lid, and cook well for 10-12 mins on low medium flame.

  5. Keep stiring it in between.

  6. Add all the spices and mix well.

  7. Add little water and cover it again for 8-10 mins on low medium flame.






For Serving

Garnish it with kasuri methi. Serve your Spiny Gourd with chapatti and curd.. Enjoy your meal!!
