Methi Sonth






Ingredients


  1. 1 big cup imli water (3-4 hrs soaked)

  2. 1 cup grated jaggery or sugar

  3. 1.5-2 cups water

  4. 1 tsp salt

  5. 1 tsp cumin seeds

  6. 1/2 tsp red chili powder

  7. 1/4 tsp asafetida

  8. 1-2 tbsp melon seeds

  9. 1 tbsp oil

Procedure




  1. Heat oil in a kadai.

  2. Add cumin seeds, red chili powder and asafetida.

  3. Toss for a min or two.

  4. Add imli water and mix well.

  5. Add water.

  6. Cook for 8-10 mins.

  7. Add jaggery and mix well.

  8. Add salt, cook further for 20-25 mins on medium low flame.

  9. Add melon seeds and cook for 10-15 mins.

  10. It should be in medium consistency.


For Serving

Serve your Sonth along with Samosa, Papdi Chat, Gol Gappe, Dhokla , Khandvi balls and enjoy!!
